The Healing Post Yoga offerings include, Easy Yoga, Beginner's Yoga, Intermediate Yoga, Yoga For Expecting Families, Restorative Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga - The original form of Power Yoga. We also present a class in Yoga~Tai Chi, a course that blends the best of these two great traditions for wholesome living and the integration of body-mind-spirit. Each course is ongoing throughout the year and is divided into 8-week segments. Students begin at any time. While each class has a particular, step-by-step plan for increasing flexibility, suppleness and competence, we address, as much as possible, the individual needs of class members. For example, if students report low back pain, neck stiffness or shoulder problems, at the beginning of class, the instructor will fashion some of the days' program to address these issues. Our Yoga classes consist of Traditional stretching postures, Eye exercises, Breathing instruction, and Meditation. We encourage a non-competitive atmosphere in which the marked benefits of Yoga are geared to a person's potential for growth, rather than their external level of performance. Respect for each individual's specific abilities keys in new strengths, personal freedom, and emerging capacities. The class length is 1.5 hours. We often have a question and answer period after class and, on occasion, we serve herbal drinks and teas.
Yoga Teacher Training and Certification Programs
Namaste, so often spoken at the beginning and end of Yoga classes means, I bow to you. I offer myself to you in Peace. At The Healing Post, our purpose in offering Yoga Teacher Certification Programs is summed up in this one word. Namaste! We believe that the essence of responsible transmission of the beautiful Teachings of Yoga requires both, competence and offering the best of ourselves. Our students are encouraged and assisted in building high-level competencies in all the pertinent dimensions of Yoga Practice, the How-To-Do-It. And in Yoga Education, the How-to-Teach-It. Because each person possesses different abilities, weaknesses and strengths, we encourage our students to discover styles of teaching that are unique to their own life path. We find that confidence based on competence encourages respect for tradition and for professional, creative self expression. We also believe that when people practice Yoga competently and regularly, they manifest their inborn, intuitive capacities for service and right action, which, in turn, support vocation and right livelihood. Students in our Yoga Teacher Training programs often report exponential accelerations in their abilities to settle confusions and conflicts in their personal lives and in their teaching skills. Our intention is to offer the best of ourselves to Yoga Teacher Education Professionals. Namaste!
